ORDER
The Civil Revision Petition has been filed to direct the II Additional Family Court, Chennai, to speed up the trial of the divorce petition in O.P.No.3525 of 2015 and to dispose of the same within a stipulated time.
2. The petitioner is the husband and the respondent is the wife. The petitioner filed O.P.No.3525 of 2015 on the file of II Additional Family Court, Chennai, for divorce against the respondent on the ground of cruelty. The respondent filed counter statement on 24.10.2016 and the trial was commenced. The petitioner filed proof affidavit on 02.11.2016 and the respondent had not cross examined by the petitioner. PW1's cross-examination is closed. The petitioner's father S.Damodaran/PW2 has filed his proof affidavit and the case has been posted for examination in chief of PW2 on 27.04.2017 and for cross examination by the respondent on 27.04.2017. On the aforesaid circumstances, the petitioner has come out with the present Civil Revision Petition for speedy disposal.
3. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and perused the materials available on record.
4. Having regard to the submissions made by the learned counsel for the petitioner, considering the limited prayer sought for in the civil revision petition and since the above said O.P. is
pending from the year 2015, without expressing any opinion with regard to the merits of the matter, I direct the II Additional Family Court, Chennai, to dispose of the O.P.No.3525 of 2016, on merits and in accordance with law, as expeditiously as possible, in any event, not later than 30th September, 2017.
5. The Civil Revision Petition is disposed of with the above direction. No costs.
