Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue Writ of Mandamus, directing the 2nd respondent to consider and permanently post the petitioner as Staff Nurse in the any one of the Government Hospitals in and around Madurai, preferably in the Hospitals under control of 4th respondent by considering the family situations as mentioned in her representation dated 18.12.2025 For Petitioner : Mr.V. ORDER

This writ petition has been filed seeking for a direction to the 2nd respondent to consider and permanently post the petitioner as Staff Nurse in the any one of the Government Hospitals in and around Madurai, preferably in the Hospitals under control of 4th respondent by considering the family situations as mentioned in her representation dated 18.12.2025.

2. It is stated that the petitioner, a Diploma holder in General Nursing, was appointed as Staff Nurse on consolidated basis on 12.02.2016 and served in various Government Primary Health Centres. Pursuant to the orders of this Court in W.P. No.2424 of 2023 etc. batch, her services were regularised on 2/5

18.11.2024 and she was posted at Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital, Chennai.

3. It is further averred that the petitioner is a widow and a single parent taking care of her minor son aged about 11 years. By proceedings dated 30.07.2025 of the 2nd respondent, her services were diverted and she was relieved. In the meanwhile, vacancies of Staff Nurse are available in and around Madurai District. In such circumstances, seeking a posting near Madurai on hardship grounds, she submitted a representation dated 18.12.2025, which has not been considered, till date. Hence this writ petition.

4. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that considering her status as a widow and single parent. Further he submitted that several vacancies of Staff Nurse are available in and around Madurai and therefore, the petitioner's request may be considered sympathetically. Hence, the learned counsel sought a direction to the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation dated 18.12.2025 within a stipulated time.

5. The learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents submitted that he has no objection for issuance of such a direction by this Court to the 2nd respondent.

Considering the aforesaid submissions, this Court directs the 2nd respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 18.12.2025 and pass appropriate orders in accordance with law, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. It is made clear that this Court has not expressed any opinion on the merits of the petitioner's claim. No costs.
