PRAYER: Criminal Original Petition filed under Section 482 Cr.P.C., to call for the records leading to filing of charge sheet filed in C.C.No.101 of 2015, pending on the file of the Judicial Magistrate, Arakonam.

ORDER

This Criminal Original petition has been filed to quash the charge sheet filed in C.C.No.101 of 2015 on the file of learned Judicial Magistrate, Arakonam.

The case of the prosecution is that the petitioner along with his family members are said to have demanded dowry of Rs.10,00,000/- from the defacto complainant and on 14.09.2014,the 1st petitioner alleged to have stolen the jewels belonging to the defacto complainant. Based on the complaint

given by the defacto complainant,the respondent police registered an FIR in Crime No.24 of 2014 for the offences punishable under 498(A), 406, 506(i) IPC and Section 4 and 7 of Dowry Prohibition Act and Section 4 of THPNH Act against these petitioners and after investigation, they also filed a charge sheet No.1 of 2015 before the learned Judicial Magistrate Court, Arakkonam and the case was tried in C.C.No.101 of 2015. Challenging the said charge sheet, the petitioners filed Criminal Original pettition seeking to quash the same, pending on the file of Judicial Magistrate, Arakkonam.

3. When the matter was taken up for hearing, Mr.E.Raj Thilak, learned counsel for Government (Crl. Side), on instructions submitted that the Court below after examining all the witnesses and taken into consideration the entire materials on record, had acquitted the petitioners from all charges framed under Section 248(1) of Cr.PC on 20.11.2018 in C.C.No.101 of 2015.

In view of the submission made by the learned Counsel for Government (Crl. Side), nothing survives in this Criminal Original petition and accordingly, the same stands closed. Consequently, the connected miscellaneous petitions are closed.
