Respondent PRAYER : Petition filed under Section 11 of the Contempt of Courts Act 1972 to punish the respondent for his willful disobedience and non-compliance of the order of this Court made in W.P.No.26313 of 2018 dated 08.10.2018 under the provisions of Contempt of Courts Act.

ORDER

This Court by an order dated 08.10.2018, directed the respondent/Tamil Nadu Housing Board to deposit the award amount. Since the order has not been complied with, the present Contempt Petition has been filed.

2. Earlier, notice was ordered to the respondent.

3. Today, when the matter is taken up for hearing, the learned counsel appearing for the respondent would submit that the respondent/Housing Board has already deposited the amount. In turn, the Revenue Divisional Officer has also paid the entire compensation to the petitioner and to the effect that he has also produced the copy of the proceedings issued by the Tamil Nadu Housing Board. 4.

The learned counsel counsel for the petitioner would submit that the entire compensation was not deposited and the respondent is yet to pay a sum of Rs.60000/-.

5. The learned counsel appearing for the respondent disputed the same and submits that the entire compensation has been paid.

6. Considering the fact that the compensation amount has been deposited, this contempt petition is closed, as no further adjudication is required in this petition. If at all, there is any discrepancy in the payment of award, it is open to the petitioner to work out his remedy with the Land Acquisition Officer.
