Respondents PRAYER : Writ Petition filed Under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to issue a Writ of Certiorarified Mandamus calling for the records relating to the 1st respondent's impugned order made in CBSE/RO(M)/CORR/REJECTION/2018/11370 dated 07.09.2018 and quash the same as illegal and without application of mind and consequently direct the 1st respondent to correct the petitioner's father name as "Chilukuri Mohana Reddy" in the petitioner's 10th standard Mark Certificate. O R D E R
The prayer in the writ petition is to quash the impugned order dated 07.09.2018 refusing to correct the spelling in the name of the petitioner's father.
2. It is stated that the name of the father of the minor student/petitioner is "Chilukuri Mohana Reddy", whereas, in the school records it has been mentioned as "Chilukuri Mohan Reddy". The letter 'a' is omitted by inadvertence or mistake. In this regard, the petitioner had made a representation to the second respondent requesting to change the name as "Chilukuri Mohana Reddy" in the 10th standard mark sheet against father's name. Subsequently, the second respondent had sent a letter to the first respondent to correct the petitioner's father's name. But the first respondent has rejected his request. The order of refusal states that on verification of documents, the request made by the petitioner's father is not found in consonance with the school records.
3. Heard the learned counsel appearing on both sides.
4. As the petitioner wants only correction in the spelling of the father's name, which has been inadvertently spelt wrong, the respondents can get the same corrected. Already the respondents also have verified other documents filed in support of the correct spelling in the other records, there is no impediment in correcting the name of the father of the minor petitioner as "Chilukuri Mohana Reddy" in the 10th standard mark certificate.

Accordingly, the first respondent is directed to correct the petitioner's father's name as "Chilukuri Mohana Reddy" in the petitioner's 10th standard Mark Certificate within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The petitioner is also directed to return the original certificate already received and make a request to the respondents by paying the requisite fees if any, for the same.
6. With the above directions, the Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
