Respondent Petition filed under Section 11 of the Contempts of Court Act, 1971, to punish the respondent herein for having committed contempt of Court of the order passed by this Court dated 09.08.2016 in W.A.No.1762 of 2015, confirming the order dated 09.07.2014 made in W.P.No.25256 of 2012.

ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by HULUVADI G.RAMESH, J.) Alleging that the order passed by this Court dated 09.08.2016 in W.A.No.1762 of 2015 has not been complied with, the present contempt petition has been filed.

2.When this contempt petition was taken up, the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondent has submitted that pursuant to the order passed by this Court on 09.08.2016 in W.A.No.1762 of 2015, an order has been passed by the Government of Tamil Nadu in Letter No.22634/E4/2016-3 dated 19.12.2016, rejecting the request of the petitioner to fix the seniority in the Assistant Cadre from 01.05.2001, as devoid of merits. 3.In view of the above proceedings of the Government of Tamil Nadu dated 19.12.2016, we find that there is substantial compliance of the order passed by this Court. Accordingly, the contempt petition is closed. If the petitioner is aggrieved, it is for him to challenge the said proceedings in accordance with law, if he is so entitled. Index : Yes/No (H.G.R.,J.)
