Mr.A.Anandan, learned Government Advocate accepts notice for the respondents and is armed with instructions to enable final disposal of this Writ petition, even at the stage of admission.

2. The petitioner has made a representation to R1, being Revenue Divisional Officer, Arni for appointment as licensed auctioneer for the Arani Division under the Pawn Brokers Act, 1943 and Rules, 1944.

3. He states that he hold pawn brokers license for several other divisions such as Chennai Central Division, Tiruvallur, Chengalpattu, Sriperumbudur, Cheyyar, Villupuram and Arakkonam Divisions. An enquiry has also been conducted and, according to him, nothing further stands in the way of issuance of license.

4. Since the petitioner has made the same request before R1, as before me, and his prayer is itself only for consideration of his representation, mandamus is issued to R1 to consider his representation dated 06.04.2023, hear the petitioner and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law thereupon, within a period of six (6) weeks from date of receipt of copy of this order.
