PETITION under Article 226 of The Constitution of India praying for the issuance of a Writ of Habeas Corpus directing the respondents to produce the body of the detenu Rajan (a) Soundarajan, S/O Arumainayagam, male, 50 years, convict prisoner No.5201, Central Prison, Puzhal before this Court and grant 60 days ordinary leave to visit his ailing wife, to arrange educational expenses of his daughter and also for repairing thehouse which is in a dilapidated condition. (Order of the Court was made by T.S.SIVAGNANAM,J) We have heard Mr.V.Elangovan, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mrs.Prabhavathi, learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondents.

2. This matter is taken up for hearing after the matter is being mentioned by the learned counsel for the petitioner.

3. It is seen that as per the parole granted to the detenu - a life convict, he has to surrender before the Central Prison, Puzhal, Chennai today i.e. 15.6.2020.

4. However, it is submitted by the learned counsel for the petitioner that the application made by the convict prisoner for issuance of e-pass to travel from Trichy, where he is presently staying, to Chennai has been rejected six times and four of such rejections were made in the last three days. It is also submitted that the convict prisoner is reporting daily before the K.K.Nagar Police Station, Trichy.

5. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor seeks time to get instructions in the matter.

6. List on 22.6.2020. Till then, the convict prisoner shall report before the K.K.Nagar Police Station, Trichy twice a day at 10.30 am and 5.30 pm.
