The petitioner seeks bail in Crime No.163 of 2023, registered by the respondent police for the offences punishable under Section 6 of POCSO Act. The petitioner had been taken into custody on 05.11.2023. 2.It is stated that aggravated penetrative sexual offence had been committed by the petitioner on the victim child. 3.The learned counsel for the petitioner stated that the petitioner is aged 21 years and the victim is aged 14 years and he is ready to marry the victim girl.
4.The learned Public Prosecutor (Puducherry) for the respondent pointed out that the petitioner had taken photos of the victim girl and he is threatening the victim girl that he will post the said photographs in social media. As on date the victim girl is a vulnerable witness in this case and she requires protection.
5.In view of all these facts, I am not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner at this stage. Accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition stands dismissed.
