Respondents PRAYER: Criminal Original Petition filed under Section 482 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, to direct the respondent Nos.1 & 2 herein to provide adequate police protection to petitioner and her husband life to live peacefully at Arasamara Street, Kozhiyur Village, Thittakudi Taluk, Cuddalore District by considering the representation of the petitioner dated 21.01.2022 in accordance with law.

O R D E R

This Criminal Original Petition is filed to direct the respondent Nos.1 & 2 herein to provide adequate police protection to petitioner and her husband life to live peacefully at Arasamara Street, Kozhiyur Village, Thittakudi Taluk, Cuddalore District by considering the representation of the petitioner dated 21.01.2022 in accordance with law. 2.The contention of the petitioner is that the petitioner had married one Karupaiya on 08.02.2020 at Aruligu Kaalatheeswarar Thirukovil, Mangalore as per the Hindu Rites and Customs. The marriage was against the petitioner's parents wish. Though the petitioner and her husband both hails from the same community and social back ground, the petitioner's parents are objecting for the reason that the said Karupaiya belongs to a economically weaker section compare to the parents of the petitioner.

Both the petitioner and her husband Karupaiya are now intended to enter the village, but the respondent Nos.3 to 9, who are the parents and relatives of the petitioner not allowing them, threatening them and claiming to done away the petitioner and her husband Karupaiya. Hence she filed the above said petition seeking to provide adequate security for her life and her husband to live peacefully in her house situated at Arasamara Street, Kozhiyur Village, Thittakudi Taluk, Cuddalore District. 3.The learned Additional Public Prosecutor submits that both the petitioner and her husband both belong to same community and the marriage between the petitioner and her husband is against the wish of the petitioner's parents and their relatives.

The petitioner and her husband had lodged a complaint to the second respondent police and the same was received by the respondent police and enquiry conducted, to that effect, the respondent police obtained a written undertaking from the respondent Nos.3 to 9 that they will not involve in any violence. If they indulged in any violence, the second respondent police would take appropriate action against them.

4.Recording the submissions of the learned Additional Public Prosecutor, this Criminal Original Petition stands disposed of.
