O R D E R

Mr.R.Sivakumar, learned standing counsel takes notice for the respondent. By consent of the parties, the main writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

2. The petitioner seeks for a mandamus directing the respondent to allot a tenement / flat in Perumbakkam Scheme, Sholinganallur Taluk, Kancheepuram District.

3. It is claimed by the petitioner that she was evicted from the property situated at Survey No.485, Topo No.8, Perumbakkam, for utilizing the said property for public purpose, however, by giving assurance to the petitioner that she will be alloted an alternative property to reside. It is further claimed that she has also issued with Identity Card No.1062 to that effect. The grievance of the petitioner is that even after a period of 7 1/2 years, the respondent has not allotted a tenement to the petitioner. Ventilating such grievance, the petitioner has made a representation on 21.12.2017 to the respondent. 4. Therefore, this Court, at this stage, is not expressing any view on the merits of the claim made by the petitioner, as it is for the respondent to consider and decide the same.

Accordingly, this writ petition is disposed of, only by directing the respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 21.12.2017 and pass orders on the same on merits and in accordance with law, after giving due opportunity of hearing to the petitioner. Such exercise shall be done by the respondent within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs.
