The Criminal Original Petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondent Police to expedite the investigation in Crime No.03 of 2023 registered against the petitioner for the offence under Section 7A of the Prevention of Corruption Act and file the final report within a stipulated period.

2. When the matter is taken up today for hearing, the learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side), on instructions from Mr.D.Elavarasan, Sub-Inspector of Police, Vigilance and Anti Corruption, Vellore Detachment, submitted that the investigation in Crime No.3 of 2023 has been completed and a request for grant of sanction has also been sent to the appropriate authority on 29.12.2023. He further submitted that as and when the sanction is received, the final report will be filed before the jurisdictional court concerned and hence, he prayed that suitable orders may be passed.

3. Taking into consideration the submissions made by the learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) appearing for the respondent, this Criminal 2/4

Original Petition stands disposed of with a direction to the respondent to file the final report in Crime No.3 of 2023 as expeditiously as possible, preferably, within a period of two months from the date of receipt of sanction from the appropriate authority.
