ORDER

This Court, while disposing of the writ petition in W.P.No.41551 of 2016, by order dated 25.11.2016, directed the respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 03.11.2016 seeking sanction of regular pensionary benefits and other service benefits with all consequential arrears of pension and to pass appropriate orders, on merits and in accordance with law and also in the light of the decision of the Madurai Bench of this Court dated 19.12.2007 made in W.P.(MD).No.9408 of 2007 https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/ (Alagammal Vs. State of Tamil Nadu and four others) within a period of six weeks.

2.The present contempt petition has been filed by the petitioner alleging non-compliance of the said order dated 25.11.2016 passed by this Court.

3.Today, when the matter is taken up, the learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondent, by producing a copy of the proceedings dated 22.05.2017 issued by the respondent, submitted that in compliance of the order passed by this Court, the representation of the petitioner was considered and the respondent has passed an order rejecting the claim of the petitioner. Thus, the learned Government Advocate submitted that the order of this Court has been duly complied with by the respondent. 4.Since the order of this Court has been complied with, nothing survives in this contempt petition and the same is accordingly closed. However, the petitioner is at liberty to challenge the order passed by the respondent in the manner known to law, if he so desires.
