Respondents Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to consider

the representation of petitioner dated 18.01.2025 and to shift the petitioner's husband Mr.Saravanan @ Bomb Saravanan, S/o Athimulam, aged 40 years, remand prisoner, now admit in the Stanley Government Hospital, Chennai to the private multi-speciality hospital (Apollo Hospital, Greams Road, Chennai) for proper treatment.

ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by S.M.SUBRAMANIAM,J.) The writ of mandamus has been instituted to direct the respondents to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 18.01.2025 for shifting the petitioner's husband Mr.Saravanan @ Bomb Saravanan, S/o Athimulam, aged 40 years, remand prisoner, now admitted in the Stanley Government Hospital, Chennai, to the private multi-speciality hospital (Apollo Hospital, Greams Road, Chennai) for proper treatment.

2. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor furnished the report of the Professor & HOD, Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, Stanley Medical College & Hospital, Chennai dated 22.01.2025 in respect of the prisoner in

the present case.

3. The report reveals that entry and exit wounds are healing well. Wound swab taken and result awaited. Fasting capillary blood glucose on 22.01.2025 is 120 mg/dl. Patient vital parameters are normal and being taken care as per standard treatment guidelines and patient is planned for discharge.

4. In view of the report of the Professor & HOD, Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, Stanley Medical College & Hospital, Chennai, the relief as such sought for in the present writ petition deserves no further consideration. However, if the doctor opined that any further treatment is required, the prisoner can be referred to the Government Rajiv Gandhi Medical College and Hospital, Chennai for speciality treatment. The writ petition stands disposed of. No costs.
