O R D E R

This Writ Petition has been filed questioning the Proceedings No.Maa.Ku.Na.(Ma).Ma.Ku. Na.No.F12/725/2012 dated 09.05.2012, wherein the request of the petitioner for promotion to the post of Maternity Child Health Officer was rejected.

2. Today, when the matter is taken up for consideration, it is brought to the notice of this Court that the petitioner has already retired from service on voluntary retirement by submitting an application dated 03.07.2017 and the said application was favourably considered and the petitioner was allowed to retire from service with effect from 30.09.2017 through Proceedings in Ma.Se.Thu. Na.Ka.No.F5/2468/2017 dated 28.09.2017. A copy of the said proceedings dated 28.09.2017 is placed before this Court by the learned counsel for the respondent.

3. In the light of the fact that the petitioner ceased to be in service and retired as early as on 30.09.2017 on her own application, the question of 2/4

considering her case for promotion to the post of Maternity Child Health Officer does not arise at this stage.

4. In the circumstances, the Writ Petition is dismissed as infructuous. There shall be no order as to costs. Miscellaneous Petitions, if any, shall stand closed.
