Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to forthwith effect 10 nos. of L.T.Service Connection to the petitioners as per the approval order of the first respondent dated 25.09.2020 and as per the Government Order in G.O.Ms.No.70, Public Works Department, dated 02.03.2020. O R D E R

The petitioners have filed this writ petition seeking issuance of Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to forthwith effect 10 nos. of L.T.Service Connection to the petitioners as per the approval order of the first respondent dated 25.09.2020 and as per the Government Order in G.O.Ms.No.70, Public Works Department, dated 02.03.2020. 2.The case of the petitioners is that the petitioners are members of S.M.75 Nedungulam Lift Irrigation Co-operative Society. As per the Government Order in G.O.Ms.No.70, Public Works Department, dated 02.03.2020, the petitioners are permitted to become agricultural beneficiaries and to get electricity service connection for their pump sets for irrigating their agricultural lands. Hence, the petitioners submitted their applications seeking electricity service connection for their pump sets on 25.06.

2020 under the Self Financing Scheme and since the said Scheme took a lot of time, the petitioners changed the category to Fast Track (Tatkal) Self Financing and also paid the respectable charging to TANGEDCO on 29.09.2020. The first respondent also vide order dated 25.09.2020 granted approval to process 10 nos. of LT applications of the petitioners, however, till date electricity service connection was not given to the petitioners pump sets. Hence, this writ petition.

3.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that without going into the merits of the case, this Court may issue direction to the respondents to implement the order of the first respondent dated 25.09.2020 and effect electricity service connection to the petitioners pump sets, within a reasonable time frame.

4.In view of the above, this Court directs the respondents to implement the order of the first respondent dated 25.09.2020

and effect electricity service connection to the petitioners pump sets, within a within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order if there is no legal impediment.
