PRAYER: Criminal Original Petition filed under Section 482 of Cr.P.C., prayed to modify the condition imposed on the petitioner by an order dated 14.12.2023 in Crl.M.P.No.56264 of 2023 passed by the learned XIV Metropolitan Magistrate, Egmore, directing the petitioner to appear and sign before the respondent police everyday Morning and Evening at 10.00 a.m., and 5.00 p.m., respectively, until further orders. ORDER

This petition has been filed seeking to modify the condition imposed in an order dated 18.12.2023 in Crl.M.P.No.56264 of 2023 passed by the learned XIV Metropolitan Magistrate, Egmore, directing the petitioner to appear and sign before the respondent police everyday Morning and Evening at 10.00 a.m., and 5.00 p.m., respectively, until further orders. 2.Heard both sides.

3.It is stated that the petitioner was also involved in yet another FIR, which had been registered by the Inspector of Police, R.S.Puram Police Station at Coimbatore and there was a direction for him to appear before that particular police station. In view of that particular fact, he could not comply with the direction, which had been mentioned above. 4.A report had been received that he had complied with the condition to appear before the Inspector of Police, R.S.Puram Police Station, 5.The learned counsel for the petitioner stated that the petitioner would continue again to appear before the said R.S.Puram Police Station. 6.But that may not be proper since FIR in Crime No.220 of 2023 had been registered by the Inspector of Police, Nungambakkam Police Station, which is the Investigating Agency.

7.In view of that particular fact, the condition imposed on the petitioner is modified to the effect that the petitioner shall appear before the Inspector of Police, F-3, Nungambakkam Police Station, Chennai, everyday at 10.30 a.m., for a period of two weeks and thereafter as and when required for interrogation.
