Prayer: Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying for a Writ of Habeas Corpus, directing the respondent to produce the body of the petitioner's son Master D.Samson, aged about 17 years before this Court and set him at liberty.

ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by M.JAICHANDREN,J) Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner as well as the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing on behalf of the respondent.

2. This Habeas Corpus Petition has been filed by the petitioner, who is the father of the detenu, namely, D.Samson, aged about 17 years. He had filed the Habeas Corpus Petition praying that this court may be pleased to direct the the respondent to produce the body of the petitioner's son Master D.Samson, aged about 17 years, before this Court and to set him at liberty.

3. It has been stated that the detenu, who had studied till 9th standard in a School, at Chennai, has been missing. He is a handicapped person. From 31.03.2014, the detenu has been missing from his house. Therefore, the petitioner, had lodged https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

a complaint with the police, on 05.04.2014 and the complaint has been registered, in Crime No.645 of 2014, as a "Boy Missing" case. However, no steps had been taken by the respondent. Hence, the petitioner had preferred the present Habeas Corpus Petition before this Court.

4. The respondent has filed status report, dated 08.02.2016, giving details of the places visited by a Special Team formed to trace the detenu. From the said status report, it is noted that the respondent is taking all necessary steps to trace the detenu. In such circumstances, as no further orders are necessary, the present Habeas Corpus Petition stands dismissed. However, it is made clear that the respondent shall take all necessary steps to trace the detenu, at the earliest and to proceed in accordance with law.
