Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue a writ of Habeas Corpus to call for the records relating to the proceedings of the 2nd respondent in CPT.No.3/2022 dated 05.01.2022 against the petitioner's son Pradeep @ Uthaman, male, aged about 26 years, son of Aruljothi and quash the same and consequently direct the respondents herein to produce the detenu, who is detained under the Tamil Nadu Act 14 of 1982 currently confined at the Central Prison, Puzhal, Chennai 600 066, before this Court and set him at liberty.

ORDER

The petitioner challenges the impugned order of detention in Memo CPT.No.3/2022 dated 05.01.2022 detaining her son as "Bootlegger", as contemplated under Section 2(b) of the Tamil Nadu Act 14 of 1982.

The learned Additional Public Prosecutor reports that the order of detention passed against the detenu has been revoked by the Government by its order in G.O.Rt.No.1833, Home, Prohibition and Excise (XI) Department, dated 05.04.2022 and he has also produced a copy of the Government Order. Recording the same, this Habeas Corpus Petition stands closed.
