(The case has been heard through video conference) This Criminal Original Petition has been filed seeking to quash the criminal proceedings in C.C.No.733 of 2016 pending on the file of the XVIII Metropolitan Magistrate at Saidapet, Chennai.

2. Today, when this matter was taken up for hearing, the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that during the pendency of this criminal original petition, the petitioner died on 11.05.2021. The learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) appearing for the first respondent produced the death https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

certificate of the petitioner. The same is recorded.

3. In view of the fact that the petitioner has died, the charge against him stands abated. Now, nothing remains for adjudication and hence this petition is dismissed.
