ORDER
Dr.T. Seenivasan, learned counsel takes notice for the 1st respondent and Mr.G.T.Subramanian, learned counsel takes notice for respondents 2 to 4. By consent of both the parties, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

The case of the petitioners is that they are working as hereditary burial workers ("Parai Vettiyans") in the burial grounds at Manali New Town, Chennai, under the control of the respondents, for several years. It is their contention that as per G.O.Ms.No.18, Municipal Administration and Water Supply Department dated 11.01.2008 issued by the Government of Tamil Nadu, 2/5
similarly placed persons are entitled to be appointed and regularised as Burial Assistants. The petitioners have made several representations seeking regularisation in accordance with the said Government Order, including a representation through their Labour Union and a subsequent representation dated 24.09.2025. However, the same has not been considered till date. Hence, this writ petition.
3. Heard the submissions made by learned counsel on either side and perused the entire records.
4. Considering the limited relief sought and without expressing any opinion on merits, the respondents are directed to consider the petitioners' representation dated 24.09.2025, in the light of G.O.Ms.No.18 dated 11.01.2008 and the orders passed in respect of similarly placed persons, and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
5. With the above directions, this writ petition stands disposed of. No costs.
