This Transfer Petition is filed by the wife to withdraw I.D.O.P.No.514 of 2024 on the file of the Family Court at Chengalpet and transfer the same to the Family Court, Chennai.

2.Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and perused the materials available on record.

3.The petitioner married the respondent on 10.02.2021 as per Christian rites. Due to the wedlock, they were blessed with a child. Since their matrimonial life ran into rough weather, the respondent / husband initiated proceedings in I.D.O.P.No.514 of 2024 to dissolve the marriage solemnized between the petitioner and the respondent on 10.02.2021 before the Family Court at Chengalpet. It is the contention of the petitioner that she is residing in Chennai and it is difficult for her to travel from Chennai to Chengalpet, leaving the child aged two years at home for each and every hearing, since the distance is 75 km, which takes at least two hours for travel. Hence, she has moved the present transfer petition. 4.This Court and the Supreme Court have consistently held in the matters of transfer that the convenience of the wife should be given a superior consideration than that of the husband. Further, the learned counsel for the respondent/husband submits that the respondent / husband has no

objection for the transfer of the proceedings. As the distance between Chennai and Chengalpet is considerable, this Court is inclined to transfer the proceedings.

5.Therefore, I.D.O.P.No.514 of 2024 is withdrawn from the file of the Family Court, Chengalpet, and transferred to the Family Court, Chennai. 6.Accordingly, this Transfer Petition is ordered. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed. 10.06.2025 mkn Internet : Yes Index : Yes / No Speaking order / Nonspeaking order N. SATHISH KUMAR, J.
