Mr.L.P.Shanmugasundaram, learned Special Government Pleader takes notice for the respondents. By consent of the parties, the main writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.
2. The petitioner seeks for a mandamus directing the third respondent to dispose of the proceedings dated 26.12.2017, based on his representation dated 14.11.2017.
3. It is seen that the petitioner has already approached this Court and filed a writ petition in WP.No.11131 of 2015, challenging the demand notice dated 02.09.2014 issued by the third respondent herein. It is further seen that the said writ petition was dismissed as not maintainable on 23.08.2017, however, by granting liberty to the petitioner to approach the appropriate authority to file his claim and objections. Consequently, the petitioner has filed such objections on 14.11.2017 and thereafter, the proceedings are still pending before the third respondent.
4. Considering the above stated facts and circumstances and considering the limited scope of the relief sought for in this writ petition, without expressing any view on the merits of the matter, this writ petition is disposed of, only by directing the third respondent to dispose of the representation made by the petitioner on 14.11.2017 and pass orders on the same on merits and in accordance with law, after giving due opportunity of hearing to the petitioner, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs.
