Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for the issuance of writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to consider the case of the petitioner for appointment to the post of ITI Helper (Trainee) in the service of Tamil Nadu Electricity Board (Tamil Nadu Generation & Distribution Corporation Ltd.) by taking into account the 79% of marks obtained by him in the Trade of Electrician in the test conducted by the NCVT and the marks obtained by him in the practical test and the marks obtained by him in the interview under the category of BCO.

The petitioner submitted an application for appointment to the post of ITI Helper (Trainee) pursuant to the notification issued by the Tamil Nadu Electricity Board. It is the grievance of the petitioner that notwithstanding the marks secured by him (79), the respondents have selected others, who have scored only 71.82 marks. The petitioner submitted a representation dated 28.02.2014 requesting the respondents to consider his case for appointment. Since follow up action was not taken by the respondents, the petitioner is before this court.

2. The second respondent is directed to consider and dispose of the representation dated 28.02.2014 submitted by the petitioner on merits and as per law. Such exercise shall be completed within a period of two months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

3. The petitioner is directed to forward a copy of the representation dated 28.02.2014 along with a copy of this order so as to enable the second respondent to consider the matter as expeditiously as possible.
