The petitioner has approached this Court seeking the following relief:- "To issue a writ forbearing the Respondents herein and its subordinates from entering into my business places and harassing my Company and its employees without following the due process of law. "

2. The petitioner has arrayed 24 respondents, including 13 police stations in the State of Tamil Nadu and 11 Senior Officials of Police Department and filed the present writ petition with the above prayer.

3. In the opinion of this Court, such omnibus relief cannot be granted, since the police have got a statutory duty under Section 149 Cr.P.C. to interpose for prevention of a cognizable of offence. That apart, the investigation by the police under Chapter XII of the Cr.P.C. cannot be interdicted. Hence, this petition is closed.
