ORDER

The present contempt petition has been filed alleging willful disobedience of the order passed by this Court in W.P.No.11693 of 2007, dated 24.03.2015.

2. This Court in the above said writ petition has directed the respondents to consider the case of the petitioners and place them in the appropriate place on the basis of the marks/position/rank obtained by them in the written test, drill test and viva-voce respectively in the 'C' list of Head Constables (A.R.) fit for promotion to the post of Sub-Inspectors of Police(A.R.).

2. When the matter is taken up, learned Additional Advocate General, by getting instruction from the respondents, submitted that although the respondents have fixed the cut-off marks as 60.80 marks, the second petitioner/P.Muthukumar has miserably failed to secure the said cut-off marks, as he has admittedly secured only 57.48 marks, therefore, his case was rejected by the respondents. On the other hand, the case of the first petitioner/S.Suseedaran was considered by the respondent and thereby he was also placed in the appropriate place in the 'C' list prepared by the respondents fit for promotion to the post of Sub-Inspector of Police (A.R.), as he has admittedly secured 60.98 marks. To substantiate these submissions, learned Additional Advocate General has also produced a copy of the proceedings dated 05.04.2017 of the Director General of Police, Chennai, addressed to the Government Pleader.

3. Thus, by recording the above said submissions of the learned Additional Advocate General and also the above said proceedings of the first respondent, the contempt petition is closed. No Costs.
