This writ petition has been filed seeking for the issue of writ of mandamus directing the first and second respondents to grant approval for the appointment of the petitioner as Lecturer in the third respondent College and to pay him with all the attendant benefits.

The case of the petitioner is that he was appointed as Lecturer in the Department of Economics in the third respondent College in the year 2009. The petitioner was appointed in the vacancy that arose due to the retirement of the incumbent. The petitioner claims that his appointment was approved by the College committee. The third respondent College had forwarded papers seeking for approval of the appointment of the petitioner to the first and second respondents on 18.03.2019. The grievance of the petitioner is that the approval is pending before the first and second respondents and till date the petitioner has not been paid any salary. Therefore, the petitioner has approached this Court seeking for appropriate direction.

Heard, Mr. R. Natrtamil, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr. Akhil Akbar Ali, learned Government Advocate for respondents 1 & 2.

Taking into consideration of the facts and circumstances of the case and the limited relief that has been sought in this writ petition, there shall be a direction to the first and second respondents to consider the proposal sent by the third respondent College on 18.03.2019, seeking for approval of the appointment of the petitioner as Lecturer and pass appropriate orders within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The petitioner is directed to make fresh representation to the first and second respondents through the third respondent College along with a copy of the proposal sent by the third respondent College on 18.03.2019 and a copy of this order.

This writ petition is disposed of with the above direction. No costs.
