This writ petition has been filed seeking to quash the proceedings of the second respondent made in Na.Ka.No.26/ka.thu.kaHarur/Mugaam/2024 dated 14.01.2024 and consequently, direct the respondents to permit the petitioner's Association to have a public procession starting from Natesa Bunk to ending by the proposed Centre to be inaugurated and followed by the inauguration meeting on 05.02.2024.

2. Heard Mr.M.Guruprasad, learned counsel for petitioner and Mr.A.Damodaran, learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for respondents.

On going through the materials, this Court was not convinced to interfere with the proceedings of the second respondent dated 14.01.2024 since the projection of the entire event touched upon a particular caste belonging to that area. When this Court expressed its strong opinion, learned counsel for petitioner submitted that the petitioner association will give up taking of the procession and the function will be confined only to opening of the training centre and community hall.

In the light of the above stand taken by learned counsel for petitioner, there shall be a direction to the third respondent to grant permission and police protection only for the opening of the training centre and community hall. It is made clear that no procession will be permitted in the guise of this police protection. 3/4
