Prayer: Criminal Original Petition filed under Section 528 BNSS to direct the respondent police to file final report in Crime No.2025/2015 dated 28.03.2015 pending on the file of the respondent police as soon as possible. O R D E R

This petition has been filed seeking directions to the respondent police to file final report in Crime No.2025/2015 dated 28.03.2015 pending on the file of the respondent police as soon as possible.

Earlier, this Court, by order dated 28.01.2025, directed the respondent police to file a status report with regard to the above crime number. On 29.01.2025, the learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) for the respondent police represented that the above crime number has been closed even in the year 2015 itself, but the respondent police has not filed final report before the Magistrate concerned.

Being displeasured on the inaction of the respondent police, this Court, vide its order dated 29.01.2025, directed the Chief Secretary of Government of Tamilnadu to appear before this Court on 31.01.2025. Accordingly, today (31.01.2025), Mr.Dheeraj Kumar, I.A.S., Additional Chief Secretary to Government, Home Department, Chennai, has appeared before this Court in person and this Court had a healthy talk about the 2/4

progress of the investigation in the cases and the procedural lapses being committed by the police officials. Finally this Court directed the Additional Chief Secretary to Government, to convene a meeting with the officers to give suitable instructions to the subordinate officers to follow the procedures meticulously.
