Originally this petition has been filed as Original Application No.578 of 2003 before the TamilNadu Administrative Tribunal at Chennai and after abolition of TNAT, petition has been transferred and numbered as W.P.12521 of 2007 . Writ petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus to direct the respondent to allow the petitioner to appear before Board for Selection of Head Constables fit to be promoted as Sub-Inspector of Police separately as a special case and consequently to direct the Respondent to promote the petitioner as Sub Inspector of Police.

O R D E R

This Writ Petition has been filed to direct the respondent to allow the petitioner to appear before the Board for Selection of Head Constables fit to be promoted as Sub-Inspector of Police separately as a special case and consequently to direct the Respondent to promote the petitioner as Sub Inspector of Police.

2. When the matter is taken up for hearing, the learned counsel appearing for the respondent would submit that the petitioner was promoted as Sub Inspector of Police with effect from 01.10.2004 and therefore nothing survives for further adjudication in this Writ Petition.

3. In view of the same, this Writ Petition is dismissed as infructuous. No costs.
