Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying this Court to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents in particular the 6th respondent to give police protection to the Kanniamman Koil Masi Magam Festival which scheduled to be held on 11.03.2017 at the common land in Survey No.204/4 an extent of 0.41 acres situated in Irungaiyur village, Udayarpalayam Taluk, Ariyalur District on the basis of the representation given by the petitioner dated 10.02.2017. Pleader O R D E R The petitioner has filed the present petition seeking to issue a writ of Mandamus directing the respondents in particular the 6th respondent to give police protection to the Kanniamman Koil Masi Magam Festival which scheduled to be held on 11.03.2017 at the common land in Survey No.204/4 an extent of 0.41 acres situated in Irungaiyur village, Udayarpalayam Taluk, Ariyalur District on the basis of the representation given by the petitioner dated 10.02.2017.

The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the writ petition may be dismissed since by efflux of time, the prayer sought for in the writ petition has virtually become infructuous.

In view of the above, the writ petition is dismissed as having become infructuous. No costs.
