..Respondents Prayer: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents for stepping up of the scale of pay of the petitioner on par with her Junior R.Umarani based on the representation submitted by the petitioner dated 20.11.2018 and 25.05.2019 with all consequential and other attendant benefits including payment of arrears of salary along with interest within a time frame to be fixed by this Court. By consent of the learned counsels appearing on either side, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal.

2. The writ petition has been filed seeking directions to the respondents to consider the representation date 20.11.2018 and 25.0.2019 requesting for stepping up of the scale of pay of the petitioner on par with her junior.

The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner was initially appointed as Secondary Grade Teacher on 07.10.1988 and subsequently promoted to the post of Primary School Headmaster on 29.11.2006 and thereafter promoted as B.T Assistant (Tamil) on 19.06.2014. The contention of the petitioner is that one R.Umarani, B.T. Assistant (Tamil) who is a junior to the petitioner and acquired B.Ed degree qualification in the year 2010 is getting more pay then the petitioner, where as the petitioner had acquired B.Ed degree qualification during May 1995. Therefore, seeking for stepping up of pay on par with her junior, the petitioner has made representation to the respondents on 20.11.2018 and 25.05.2019 and further, the 3rd respondent also forwarded the said proposal to the 2nd respondent to consider the said request, however the same has not considered by the 2nd respondent till date, hence the present writ petition.

4. The learned Additional Government Pleader has submitted that that the request made by the petitioner will be considered by the respondents and if the petitioner is found eligible, the respondents will pass necessary orders stepping up the petitioner's pay on par with her junior.

Having regard to the submissions made by the learned counsels on either side and without expressing any of the views and without going into the merits of the case, this Court directs the 2nd respondent to consider the proposal forwarded by the 3rd respondent dated 20.08.2019 and pass orders on its own merits and in accordance with law, as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this Order.

6. With the above directions, the writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
