ORDER

This writ petition has been filed for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus to direct the second respondent to provide police protection and permission to conduct village folk dance and other cultural programmes on 11.04.2017 at Kilakuttai Sri Arulmigu Mariamman Temple existing at Kilakuttai, Kalangani Post, Namakkal District.

2.It is the grievance of the petitioner that he has submitted a representation dated 25.03.2017 to the respondents, seeking permission to conduct Cultural Programme on 11.04.2017 at Kilakuttai Sri Arulmigu Mariamman Temple existing at Kilakuttai, Kalangani Post, Namakkal District. However, the respondent has not considered the said representation till now. Hence this writ petition.

3.Though the petitioner sought for permission to conduct "cultural programme", learned counsel for the petitioner restricted the same to the extent of conducting Orchestra, for which, the learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents has raised no serious objection.

4.In view of the submission so made by the learned counsel for the petitioner, the second respondent is directed to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 25.03.2017 and grant permission to the petitioner to conduct Orchestra at on 11.04.2017 at Kilakuttai, Kalangani Post, Namakkal District in the event of Kilakuttai Sri Arulmigu Mariamman Temple, subject to usual conditions. It is made clear that this Court has not granted any direction to conduct "Adal Padal Nigazhchi / dance programme" in the name of "cultural programme".
