ORDER

(The case has been heard through video conference) The petitioner apprehends arrest at the hands of the respondent police for the alleged offence punishable under Section 380 and 457 IPC in Crime No.92 of 2018, seeks anticipatory bail.

2. The case of the prosecution is that the petitioner along with the other accused is said to have trespassed into the house of the defacto complainant, who is a Siddha Doctor and stolen the jewels worth about Rs.25 lakhs. Hence, the complaint.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner is an innocent person and he is no way connected with the above said offence. He would further submit that he has been falsely implicated in this case and only based on the confession statement of the other accused who was the friend of the petitioner, a false case has been foisted against the petitioner. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the State submitted that the petitioner along with the other accused is said to have trespassed into the house of the defacto complainant and stolen jewels worth about Rs.25 lakhs. He would further submit that there are thirteen previous cases pending against the petitioner. Hence, he strongly opposed to grant anticipatory bail.

5. Considering the fact that the petitioner has involved in serious offence and that the petitioner has thirteen pending cases, this Court is not inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner. Accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition stands dismissed.
