Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue a writ of Habeas Corpus directing the 3rd respondent to produce the petitioner's daughter Malathi, aged about 25 years, before this Court by person or body and set her at liberty.

ORDER

[Made by P.N.PRAKASH, J.] This habeas corpus petition has been filed seeking a direction to the 3rd respondent to produce the petitioner's daughter Malathi, aged about 25 years, before this Court and set her at liberty.

It is the case of the petitioner that her daughter Malathi was married to one Murugan in the year 2012 and now, she has a daughter Pooja; Malathi's elder daughter Sathyapriya died in a road accident on 26.09.2020. It is alleged by the petitioner that she was informed by her son-in-law that Malathi had left the house on 25.12.2020 and her whereabouts are not known. On these allegations, this habeas corpus petition has been filed.

On our directions, Malathi was produced before this Court via video conferencing by the Inspector of Police, Arni Taluk Police Station. The petitioner was also present in the police station.

When enquired by us, Malathi stated that she is not in the illegal custody of anyone and she is now willing to go with her mother. The petitioner, mother of Malathi, who was present in the video conferencing, agreed to take Malathi back home. Recording the same, this habeas corpus petition stands closed.
