The petitioner, Corporation Labour Union, has filed this writ petition seeking issuance of Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to regularize the services of the employees with retrospective effect from the original date of their appointment with all consequential benefits.

2.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner is absent.

3.The learned counsel appearing for the Corporation of Chennai would submit that the members of the petitioner Union are employees of Panchayats on daily wages. They were subsequently absorbed in the Corporation of Chennai and Chennai Metro Water Supply and Sewerage Board. For regularisation of their service, several writ petitions were filed before this Court and they also went before the Hon'ble Supreme Court. Finally, contempt petition in Cont.P.No.763 of 2019 was filed before this Court and after the order of this Court in Cont.P.No.763 of 2019, the Government passed G.O.Ms.No.68, dated 27.08.2019 and G.O.Ms.No.69, dated 27.08.2019, wherein, the services of the eligible candidates in Corporation of Chennai and Chennai Metro Water Supply and Sewerage Board were regularized.

Hence, nothing survives for adjudication in this writ petition. The learned counsel would further submit that if any of the individual have any grievance, they can very well approach this Court based on the individual cause of the action. 4.

5.Hence, this writ petition is dismissed. However, liberty is granted to the unselected members of the petitioner Union to work out their remedy in the manner known to law, if they are so advised. No costs.
