Prayer: Petition, which was transferred from the file of the Tamil Nadu Administrative Tribunal, under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus to direct the respondents to fix the seniority of the petitioner with reference to the rank assigned by the Teacher Recruitment Board as per G.O.Ms.No.388, Education, Science and Technology Department, dated 19.06.1996 and grant her all consequential benefits.

When this writ petition was taken up for consideration on 18.12.2018, there was no representation for the petitioner. Hence, the matter was directed to be posted today i.e, on 20.12.2018, under the caption "for dismissal". 2.Accordingly, today, the matter was listed under the caption "for dismissal". When the same was taken up for hearing, the learned counsel for the petitioner was not ready in contesting the case and sought adjournment.

3.Since the relief sought for in this writ petition is to direct the respondents to fix the seniority of the petitioner, as per G.O.Ms.No.388, Education, Science and Technology Department, dated 19.06.1996 and grant all consequential benefits and is pending right from the year 2004, this Court is not inclined to adjourn the writ petition.

4.In such view of the matter, this writ petition stands dismissed for non-prosecution. No costs.
