This writ petition has been filed by Mr.A.Kumar, seeking to quash the order of transfer dated 04.3.2016 and consequently to direct the respondent to permit him to work as Assistant Manager, Indian Overseas Bank, Koyambedu Branch,Chennai-92.
2. No representation for the petitioner.
3. When the matter was taken up for hearing on 24.03.2016, learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the the petitioner is physically disabled person and as there is no lift facilities in the transferred place, it would be highly impossible for him to climb the first floor. Therefore, this Court, directed the learned counsel for the respondent to get instructions as to whether there is any lift facility in the transferred place and whether the petitioner, who is physically challenged person, can climb upto the first floor. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

Today, Mr.F.B.Benjamin George, learned counsel for the respondent, on instructions, submitted that the contention made by the learned counsel for the petitioner that the petitioner is not able to climb up the first floor as there is no lift facility in the transferred place is misplaced and is totally bereft of any substance since there are four lifts in the same block in working condition. Besides that, he has also submitted that the petitioner can accommodate in the ground floor. Recording the statement made by the learned counsel for the respondent that there are four lifts in the transferred place and all are in working condition and that the petitioner, being physically disabled person, can also be accommodated in the ground floor, this writ petition is dismissed. No costs.
