O R D E R

The Petitioner's father, who was working as Road Maintenance worker in Highways Department at Mel Buvanagiri Panchayat Union, Cuddalore District, died intestate on 10.05.1995, leaving behind the petitioner, his sister and his mother. The petitioner's mother had sent a representation to the second respondent on 22.12.1997, seeking appointment on compassionate ground for the petitioner, to which the Commissioner has given a reply on 06.01.1998, stating that appointment cannot be given to the petitioner, on the ground that he was minor. Subsequently , on attaining majority, the petitioner gave a representation to the second respondent on 15.11.2018, which has not been considered. Hence, the petitioner filed the present writ petition seeking appropriate relief.

2. Mr.R.S.Selvam, learned Government Advocate takes notice on behalf of the 1st respondent and Ms. Thangavadhana Balakrishnan, learned Government Advocate takes notice on behalf of the 2nd respondent .

3. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, without going into the merits of the matter, the respondents are directed to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 15.11.2018, on merits and in accordance with law, and pass orders after affording an opportunity of personal hearing to the petitioner. Such an exercise shall be completed within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The writ petition is disposed of in the above terms. No costs.
