A.No.2598 of 2021 A.No.2598 of 2021 in O.P.No.109 of 1942 S.VAIDYANATHAN,J.

This application has been filed, seeking to grant renewal of lease of the northern portion in the Ground Floor to an extent of approximately 1,800 sq.ft. in the property bearing D.No.47, Moore Street, Chennai-600 001, comprised in R.S.No.11698/1 and 11698/2, more fully described in the schedule for a period of two years.

2. When the matter is taken up for hearing, learned counsel for the Applicant has submitted that when the Applicant was inclined to hand over the key to the office of the learned AG&OT, the Applicant was instructed to hand over the same before the Court. Today, the key has been abnegated to the Additional Deputy AG & OT across the Court, which has been accepted by him.

3. At this juncture, learned Additional Deputy AG & OT has stated that the arrears of rent have to be paid by the Applicant. In reply to the above, learned counsel for the Applicant would submit that the Applicant is ready to pay the arrear amount as calculated by the Office of the AG&OT, within one week from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

4. Taking note of the submissions made on either side, I am of the view that there is no need to keep this application pending. Hence, this Application is closed, with a direction to the Applicant to abide by the submissions made herein-above in respect of payment of arrears of rent.
