O R D E R

The present Criminal Original Petition has been filed seeking to quash the proceedings pending against the petitioner/A2 in C.C.No.86 of 2021, on the file of the learned Judicial Magistrate No.IV, Salem. Learned counsel appearing for the petitioners submitted that out of the total alleged cheated amount, the petitioners had paid a sum of Rs.2 lakhs and the petitioners are ready to compound the matter. Per contra, the learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) submitted that it is the case where the petitioners have cheated and misappropriated the funds of the co-operative society to the tune of several lakhs. He further submitted that the trial in C.C.No.86 of 2021 has already commenced, four of the witnesses have been examined and the case now stands posted on 18.02.2026.

Given the stage of the case as submitted by the learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side), this Court is not inclined to interfere with the trial proceedings.

Accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition stands dismissed. Consequently, the connected miscellaneous petition is closed. 09.02.2026 ham To 1.
