Respondents Prayer: Petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking a writ of mandamus, directing the respondents to proceed with selection for appointment to the post of Dark Room Assistant as per Notification No.7/MRB/2016 dated 31.01.2016 strictly in accordance with the qualification prescribed for direct recruitment to the post of Dark Room Assistant in Special Rules for Tamil Nadu Medical Subordinate Services, by considering the candidates qualified in Higher Secondary Course with Science subjects only and by following the order of preference as stated, without deviation and consequently select and appoint the petitioner to the post of DRA based on merits in selection.

By consent, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal. Mr.K.Dhananjayan, learned Special Government Pleader
accepts notice on behalf of the first respondent and Mr.A.Vivek, learned counsel appearing on behalf of respondents 2 and 3. 2.The grievance expressed by the petitioner is that he is one of the applicants for selection/appointment to the post of Dark Room Assistant. The apprehension is that the candidates having undergone science subjects are also likely to be considered for appointment to the said post and the same is in violation of Notification dated 25.01.2017 as well as the Special Rules and therefore, prays for appropriate orders. 3.This Court heard the submissions of Mr.G.Sankaran, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.K.Dhananjayan, learned Special Government Pleader appearing on behalf of the first respondent and Mr.A.Vivek, learned counsel appearing on behalf of respondents 2 and 3. 4.The learned counsel for respondents 2 and 3, on instructions, would submit that the selection to the above said post will be strictly done in accordance with the relevant norms and regulations and therefore, the grievance expressed by the petitioner is wholly unfounded.
5.The submission made by the learned counsel for respondents 2 and 3, on instructions, is placed on record. 6.In the light of the same, no further orders are necessary and the writ petition is closed. No costs. Consequently, connected WMP is closed.
