Common Prayer: Petitions filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying for issuance of a Writ of Certiorari, to call for the records relating to the impugned G.O.Ms.No.161, Public (Law and Order H) Department dated 09.02.2016 issued by the second respondent and the complaint in C.C.No.29 of 2016 on the file of the learned Principal Sessions Judge, Chennai filed by the third respondent pursuant to the impugned G.O.Ms.No.161, Public (Law and Order H) Department dated 09.02.2016 and to quash the same. For Petitioners : Mr.Prashant Rajagopal (In all W.Ps) For Respondents : No appearance (In all W.Ps) COMMON ORDER The petitioners have filed these Writ Petitions for a Certiorari, to call for the records relating to the impugned G.O.Ms.No.161, Public (Law and Order H) Department dated 09.02.2016 issued by the second respondent and the complaint in C.C.No.29 of 2016 on the file of the learned Principal Sessions Judge, Chennai filed by the third respondent pursuant to the impugned G.O.Ms.No.161, Public (Law and Order H) Department dated 09.02.2016 and to quash the same.

2. The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that these writ petitions have become infructuous in view of the subsequent development with the Government taking a decision to withdraw the complaint against the petitioners.

3. In this connection, the learned counsel for the petitioners has filed a copy of the proceedings of the Court of Sessions at Chennai in C.C.No.29 of 2016. The criminal complaint in C.C.No.29 of 2016 filed against the petitioners has been withdrawn pursuant to the order passed in Crl.M.P.No.15811 of 2021 on 13.09.2021.

The relevant portion of the order of the Court of Sessions at Chennai in C.C.No.29 of 2016 dated 13.09.2021 is reproduced below:- "This Complaint has been filed by the complainant against the accused for the alleged offence u/s 500, 501 r/w109 of IPC. As per order passed in Crl.M.P.No.15811/2021, dated 13.09.2021, the case is closed as withdrawn." C.SARAVANAN, J.

5. In view of the above, these Writ Petitions are closed. No costs.
