: Mr.C.P.Goutham, Additional Government Pleader, (in W.P.No.17290 of 2007) COMMON ORDER When the Writ Petitions are taken up for hearing, the learned Counsel for the petitioners fairly submits that the cause in the Writ Petitions does not survive for consideration any further and the Writ Petitions have become infructuous.

2. In view of the aforesaid submission, the learned Counsel for the petitioners is directed to make endorsement on the print out of the case status record.

3. Having regard to the aforesaid submission and taking note of the fact that the petitioners are seeking promotion by way of relaxation of rules which cannot be ordered, being a policy decision, more particularly by issuing a Writ of Mandamus, this Court is of the view that the cause in the Writ Petitions does not survive for consideration and the Writ Petitions have become infructuous.

4. Accordingly, these Writ Petitions are closed as infructuous. There shall be no order as to costs.
