ORDER
Mr.C.Selvaraj, while serving as Office Assistant in the fourth respondent Panchayat, filed Original Application No.4199 of 2003 on the file of the Tamil Nadu Administrative Tribunal, Chennai on 15.12.2003 seeking a mandamus directing the second respondent to regularise his service and to pay the consequential monetary benefits. After the abolition of the https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
Tribunal, the matter was transferred to this Court and renumbered as W.P.No.17349 of 2007. Since no one appeared for the petitioner, this Court appointed the learned counsel Ms.G.Sharmila as amicus curiae to assist the Court on behalf of the petitioner.
2. When the matter was taken up for hearing, Mr.M.Elumalai, learned Government Advocate for the respondents submitted that the prayer has become infructuous, since the petitioner was dismissed from service by order dated 30.12.2016. The said order has also been placed on record.
3. A perusal of the said order shows that the petitioner is not in service, since he was already dismissed by order dated 30.12.2016. This Court also places on record its appreciation for the assistance rendered by the amicus curiae in the matter. Accordingly, the writ petition is dismissed as infructuous. No costs.
