ORDER

The respondent-Management had filed the present writ petition challenging the award passed in I.D.No.711 of 2018 on the file of the Presiding Officer, Labour Court, Kancheepuram.

2. Pending disposal of the above writ petition, the workman has filed the present miscellaneous petition claiming wages under Section 17B of the Industrial Dispute Act. The petitioner had joined the respondent-Management on 17.06.2013 and had been terminated from services on 09.12.2017. His last drawn wages as stated in the affidavit https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis

filed in support of this petition, is Rs.55,000/- per month. It is the statutory amount to be paid by the employer.

3. Heard both sides.

4.Considering the fact that the benefit of Section 17B is available to the employee/workman, the Management is directed to pay Section 17B wages (last drawn wages) from the date of filing of the writ petition, within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, and for the subsequent period, Section 17B wages shall be paid on the 10th day of each succeeding month, till the disposal of the writ petition.

5. The petition is ordered accordingly.

6.Post the Writ Petition on 26.08.2025.
