The petitioner, who apprehends arrest for the alleged offence under Sections 498 (A), 420 and 506(i) of IPC in Crime No.21 of 2023, seeks anticipatory bail.

2. The case of the prosecution is that petitioner had love affair with the defacto complainant while she was studying her Masters in UK. After convincing both side parents, the marriage was solemnized on 12.09.2018. Thereafter, the petitioner's behaviour got changed and he demanded dowry from the defacto complainant and abused her. Later, the defacto complainant came to know that petitioner had cheated other women also by suppressing the earlier marriages. Hence, the complaint.

3. The learned Counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner is an innocent person and he has not committed any offence as alleged by the prosecution and he seeks time to get instructions.

The learned Government Advocate (Crl.side) for the respondent police submitted that the Intervenor raised objection stating that by giving false information, the petitioner had performed three marriages. He would submit that during investigation, he came to know that petitioner married three women by suppressing the earlier marriages. Hence, he opposed for grant of anticipatory bail to the petitioner.

On perusal of the typed set of papers, it is found that yet another FIR has been registered against this petitioner in Crime No. 10 of 2023 based on the complaint filed by one Revathi stating that petitioner was known to her through facebook and both got married and she has become pregnant. In the present FIR in Crime No.21 of 2023, the defacto complainant stating that she met him in UK while she was studying her Masters and he proposed her and marriage was solemnized. Thereafter, she came to know that he had illegal intimacy with other women and he also abused her.

Considering the above facts and circumstances of the case and considering the allegation level against the petitioner that he married three women by suppressing the earlier marriages and since the custodial interrogation of the petitioner is necessary, this Court is not inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner.

7. Accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition is dismissed. 12.04.2023 nr T.V.THAMILSELVI, J.
