O R D E R
(Order of this Court was made by R.SUBBIAH,J.) This Habeas Corpus Petition has been filed seeking a direction to respondents 1 and 2 to produce the body of the detenue viz. petitioner's daughter Saranya, aged about 19 years, now under the custody of the third respondent and set her at liberty forthwith.
2.The petitioner is the father of the detenue viz. Saranya, aged 19 years. The petitioner has stated in the affidavit filed in support of this petition that his daughter https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
is studying 3rd year B.E. in Anna Engineering College at Sriperumbudur. While so, on 14.12.2019 at about 7.00 a.m., she went to College, but, thereafter she did not return home. When the petitioner came to know that she was forcibly taken by the third respondent with an intention to marry her, he gave a complaint to the second respondent police, where a case has been registered in Crime No.527 of 2019 as Girl missing. Since the police has not taken any action to secure the detenue, the petitioner is before this Court with the present Habeas Corpus Petition.
3.Today, when the petition is taken up for consideration, the detenue is produced before this Court.
4.On enquiry, the detenue submitted before this Court that she went along with one Vicki, the third respondent herein on her volition and presently she is aged about 19 years. She expressed her willingness to go along with her father/the petitioner herein and that there is no illegal detention.
5.In view of the submission made by the detenue to the effect that there is no illegal detention, nothing survives for further adjudication in this Habeas Corpus Petition. Hence, the Habeas Corpus Petition stands closed. Sd/- Assistant Registrar (CS-III) //True Copy// Sub Assistant Registrar vga To
