ORDER
This petition has been filed to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to grant permission to the petitioner 1/4
to conduct 22nd State level conference at Sir P.T.Thiyagarayar Hall on 30.01.2020.
2. The learned counsel for the petitioner has submitted that the petitioner is the Founder/The State President representing the Tamil Nadu Press and Media Reporters Union. He further submitted that the petitioner's Union has decided to conduct 22nd State level conference on 30.01.2020 at Sir P.T.Thiyagarayar Hall and with regard to the same, the petitioner has already submitted a representation before the respondents on 11.01.2020 seeking permission. But, sofar, no order has been passed on the said representation and hence, he prayed to direct the respondents to grant permission to the petitioner to conduct 22nd State level conference in the aforesaid place on 30.01.2020.
3. Per contra, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor has submitted that the petitioner's representation is pending for consideration.
4. Considering the fact that the petitioner has submitted a representation on 11.01.2020 itself and for the past 17 days, the respondents have not passed any orders in the said representation, the petitioner is directed to appear before the first respondent on 29.01.2020 at 11.00 A.M., and on such appearance, the first respondent has to conduct enquiry and dispose of the petitioner's representation and inform the result to the petitioner.
5. With the above directions, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs. Consequently, connected Miscellaneous Petition is closed.
