Heard Ms.V.Dhanalakshmi, learned counsel for the petitioner, Mrs.Geetha Thamaraiselvan, learned Special Government Pleader for R1 and R2 and Mr.U.Bharanidaran, learned Additional Government Pleader for R3. By consent of both sides, and as
learned counsel for R1 and R2 has written instructions in the matter, this Writ Petition is disposed finally even at the stage of admission.
2. The petitioner seeks a mandamus directing R3/President, FMR 21 Thandanur Domestic Fisherman Co-operative Society, Thandanur to implement the recommendation of R2 in Na.Ga.No.2778/E/2020 dated 24.06.2021 and admit the petitioner as a member of R3 Society.
3. The respondents would state that the candidature of the petitioner could not be considered at the meeting of the Society, since the meetings were being postponed from time to time on account of elections previously, and for the last nearly two years, on account of the COVID -19 pandemic.
4. Since the meeting of the Society is slated for 5th of March, 2022, learned counsel for R2 and R3 would assure the Court that the application of the petitioner for admission as a member in the R3 Society will be considered in the aforesaid meeting. This is recorded.
5. With this, the mandamus sought for is partially issued by directing R3 to consider the application of the petitioner for admission as a member of R3 Society, in light of the recommendation by R2 dated 24.06.2021, and by laws of the Society.
6. With the aforesaid direction, this Writ Petition is closed. No costs.
